A contemporary video touring program from inside the Arabic Region

A selections of low budget videos produced during 2006, 2008 by video art practitioners from the Arab countries.
As a touring program this selection is to be shown around various art spaces around the world, starting the tour by 2009.
The program aims to create different off show chances that focuses on contemporary low budget experimentations of video artists from the Arab world.
Videos have been selected according to values of geographical and regional matters, considering various ways of expressing cultural, racial, social or even political identity.
During the program, Debates, discussions and Critic Articles will take place to activate the exploration of viewing and rephrasing the surrounding medium, as an engine for cultural exchange operations.
By the end of the touring program, documentation for all kinds of actions that surrounded the program at each tour stop will be included in one publication that will be distributed around all venues that hosted it.
The program focuses on various spots of the region’s ideological, political and cultural map, trying to create different angles of observation to facts, stereotypes and personal opinions.
Regarding that these contemporary practices have an impact effect over the society’s point of view; “Within the Region” will be approaching the other’s radical and drastic opinion with a contemporary way of thinking and honest point of viewing, along with provoking various questions about diversity of practicing video arts around the Arabic region.
